Downtown Palm Springs Revitalization

Downtown Palm Springs has a long history of attracting the young, the beautiful, the rich, the famous, and everyone in between since its incorporation in 1938.  Since that time, in addition to its attractiveness, it’s also changed a great deal and continues to.  In the mid-1990s, downtown went through yet another facelift which we were active participants in.

The iconic archway spanning Palm Canyon Drive at Alejo Road was partly designed by our founder, Marcel Latulippe, and was brought to life by Palm Springs Welding Inc.  Our company manufactured the archway with long sections of pipe that were rolled into curves at either end.  The archway was created in two sections, assembled after the pieces were powder coated.  The sunburst in the center was built as a third separate piece, attached to the two sections of the archway just prior to its delivery and installation downtown.

The assembled archway was loaded onto a truck for delivery to the job site.  Once delivered downtown, we hired a crane to place the archway into position.  Up the street from there, in two locations, we installed banner support posts that match the archway design.  Within the next several years, we built additional notable arched landmarks, one at the Desert Art Center and another further up Palm Canyon in the now blossoming Uptown Design District.

We are proud citizens of the City of Palm Springs and so pleased to be a part of these landmarks.
